Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
Hey, it's Ethan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman Chinook Two Bike Platform Rack and how it fits on our 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. It's gonna be able to support two bikes up to 45 pounds a piece, gonna hold onto them primarily with these frame hooks on our center mast, as well as two straps, one on the back tire and one on the front. So because it does make that frame contact, we'd recommend not using this with carbon frame bikes 'cause it could potentially damage your frame while you're driving. Also, if you have a really aggressive alternative frame style bike, you might have to pick up a bike adapter bar to make it work. But one of the first things that we'd like to show off about this rack is that it does have the ability to tilt away with the bike loaded up. more

CURT Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Curt Premium Hitch Bike Rack and how it fits on a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The Curt Premium is a hanging style bike rack capable of supporting four bikes up to 180 pounds total. It's gonna hold onto our bike primarily by the top tube and let the rest of the bike hang down, hence the name. It's gonna support our bike with three straps, two on the top and one anti-sway strap on the side here. As you can see here with the front tire, it is free hanging right now though, so if we rotate it all the way, it'll make contact with the back of our Sierra, so we recommend picking up some stabilizer straps if you can, just to secure that in place. more

CURT Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the CURT Premium Four Bike Rack on the back of our 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. This is a hanging-style bike rack that's gonna hold our bike by the frame. It hangs down by the frame there, held in by these two straps over the top the frame, and a third one around the seat post, limiting our side-to-side movement. It's not gonna fully eliminate that movement, but it does help quite a bit and prevent bike-to-bike contact. You are gonna have some limitations with this being a hanging-style bike rack because it's hanging by the frame, you wanna avoid carbon frame bikes because that can damage it. more

You can drap it over the tailgate here and load up more bikes that way, but for our customer today and for probably a lot of you at home who have a tile cover, that might not be an option. more

Now, this is going to be a really solid e-bike rack with a 70 pound capacity per bike, so good for those heavier bikes as well. It is gonna hold the bike by the wheels down here with these three straps and up top on the frame with this clamp. That does swivel around and move around, so if you do have an alternative frame it should be good for that. more

Now you've got a couple of options to carrying your bikes when it comes to your Sierra here. You could always just throw them in the bed, but then they're gonna be kind of stacked on top of each other, banging around, and potentially getting damaged. You could do a tailgate pad, but with the multifunctional tailgate here, and potentially a tonneau cover like we have here today, that might not be an option either. You might wanna have that tonneau cover rolled out, protecting your cargo. more

So, that means we're gonna have zero frame contact making it good for our carbon frame bikes, our alternative frame bikes, and it does have a 40 pound weight capacity in this version. This is the version that'll work with an inch-and-a-quarter hitch or two-inch hitch. If you are looking for a higher capacity of 60 pounds per per bike, you can check out the exclusively two-inch version that will boost your capacity just a bit and be better for those e-bikes. Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 GMC Canyon- Video
Hi everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we are looking at the Kuat Trouper 2.0 two bike rack here on our 2021 GMC Canyon Denali. Now, the Kuat Trouper is one of my favorites because of how it covers pretty much everything you're looking for when it comes to carrying around your bikes. Now, this isn't extra heavy in terms of weight capacity but if you just have an average bike, you're gonna have all the premium features you will need or want. One of the features it has is that it can tilt away to do so you pull on this lever and then this drops down to a tilt and you'll want to do this, let's say if you wanna access your hatch or lower your tailgate. Now, what I did notice on our truck here is that I couldn't lower the tailgate all the way. more

Hollywood Racks Road Runner Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video
Hey, everybody, welcome to etrailer.com, I'm Bobby and today we're taking a look, at the Hollywood Racks Road Runner 4 Bike Rack Carrier here, on our 2019 GMC Acadia. Now this can be an excellent way of getting your bikes to the trailhead, now with hanging style, your biggest issues, you're gonna have a lot of sway on your bikes, and what that means, they're gonna be bumping into each other they gonna be scratching each other, It's just making small, minor dinks and damage to it, so eventually, your paint's gonna start wearing off, your bikes just aren't gonna look as good. Now that doesn't mean that any aren't great, you're getting four bikes to the trail head with you, but you know, it's never great to actually do any damage to our bikes, that's where the Roadrunner comes in, it's gonna do an excellent job of really reducing the play and sway that our bikes are going to feel even with four bikes on here, and what I mean with that, you're getting a lot of great anti-sway control. At the top here, you can see we have this nice vertical posts for our anti-sway cradle here, gonna do a very good job of covering a lot of our bike, really reducing that innate play that's gonna have, so it's not gonna be swinging as much, and if it does swing, it's gonna return right back to where it was relatively quickly and fast to where we're not making any contact with our bikes. We also have at the bottom here, this nice anti-sway bar control, now what this is gonna do, to allow you to utilize the included cam buckle straps, to run this through all of your tires and each into those posts, that way you can really make sure that this guy a isn't doing this whole motion, but be, isn't gonna be swaying back and forth on this guy, so that four, therefore, they're not gonna be bumping into each other, not gonna be doing any kinda damage to yourself, and that's really the name of the game with the road runner, it is that nice hanging style, and it's really reducing all of that sway. Taking a look at the cradles themselves though, nothing too crazy got a pretty nice little rubber strip here to hold these guys on to. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 GMC Yukon XL- Video
John: Hey guys. John here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2020 GMC Yukon XL, we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks TRS two bike platform rack for e-bikes. This is designed to fit a two inch trailer hitch receiver and the one of the features I'd like to start off pointing out is it does have a tilt away feature.To do this you'll pull the safety pin here and there's a quick release pin you will also need to pull which allows us to tilt the bike rack away. I would like to point out that the bike rack sits close enough to the Yukon that with a standard bike size like this, it'll clear the pedal when you have the pedal down, but it will come in contact with the handle.You might be able to fit a smaller bike on here and be able to open up the rear hatch without making any contact, but it's really going to depend on the size of your bike.Go ahead and lift the bike back into the towing position. You'll notice here our bike is secured at three points of contact, two ratchet straps on the wheels and then one ratchet strap up here on the tire.To remove the bike, we'll start off by releasing the ratchet straps on the wheels and then we'll press this lever in to release the tension on the ratcheting arm. more

This is designed for one and a quarter inch and two inch hitches and it's a great way to carry four bikes on the back of your Yukon. This not only frees up room inside your Yukon to fit more cargo or passengers, but it means you're not going to be cramming the bikes into the back of your vehicle.So take a closer look here, you can see our bike is secured at three different points. Two ratchet straps on top, and then one here with the anti sway cradle. The anti sway cradle is designed to help limit the movement of your bike while you're heading down the road so that your bikes won't come in contact with each other or the vehicle.To remove the bike, simply press here and loosen up the ratchet strap to remove it and we'll kind of walk our bike back. more

John: Hey guys, John here from etrailer.com, and today on our 2020 GMC Yukon XL, we're going to be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Destination Platform Rack. This is designed for two inch by two inch trailer hitches and it'll hold up to four bikes, weighing 35 pounds each. This is a great option for getting up to four bikes to your destination without having to toss them up on top of your Yukon XL, or trying to fit them into the rear cargo area.Our bike here is going to be secured at three locations. There's a ratcheting strap on the rear wheel, on the middle post frame and the front wheel. To remove our bike, we'll simply press the lever here, to remove the ratcheting strap. I recommend removing the straps for the wheels first, that way you can use one hand to remove the strap for the middle rack. more

Today I have a 2019 GMC Sierra and we're going to be doing a test fit on the Thule Camber hanging-style bike rack.This bike rack is going to be able to hold up to four bikes with three tie-down points per bike. You're going to have a zip tie-style hanging system, which is going to have two straps on top and then one anti-sway cradle on the bottom, and what does this anti-sway cradle is going to do, it's going to help with that bike-to-bike contact and bike-to-vehicle contact when you're going down the road.As you can see, these mounts for your bike, it does have a rubber insert, which is going to protect your bike while hauling them anywhere, and also it has these little grooves which is going to be for your bike cables so they don't damage your frame.Let me just show you how easy it is to take this bike off the rack. It really is simple. You have this little pressure pin right here, you push down, and it slides right out, do that on both sides, and the anti-sway cradle. more

This is a hanging style bike rack that'll allow you to transfer up to five bikes to and from your destination. Now if five bikes is a little bit too much capacity for you, there is a couple of other options you have. You do have the option for a 4-Bike Rack, the only difference between that one and this one, is that you just have one less set of cradles. So it's going to be the same length of arms, you are going to have more spacing between bikes with the 4-bike version. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
Speaker 1: Today in our 2018 GMC Sierra 1500, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Kuat Transfer one bike transfer rack. Part # TS01B.Now with the bike installed let's take a closer look and show off some of the features.To start we can tilt this away from the vehicle, with the foot pedal right there. We're just going to bring our foot up, and press down and then tilt the bike rack away. Like so.However, when we come and try to open our tailgate, we can open it to about here and that's when we're going to make contact with the bike. If you wish at your own risk you can still open in up and reach in and get whatever you might need, it's not really that hard. It just depends on how much you want to risk.To tilt it back up just grab ahold of the bike rack, and then tilt it up, until you hear it latch. more

Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 GMC Sierra 1500, we're going to doing a test fit on a Saris super clamp EX two bike platform rack, part number SA0425F.Now, with a bike installed, let's take a closer look and show off some of the features.To start, like most platform racks, this can tilt away from the vehicle. Little black handle right here, we're going to pull down on that, tilt it away.However, to get access to your truck, if we open up our tailgate, we're going to see that as it comes down, it does make contact with the bike right there. Though it does get most of the way down, so if you're careful, you can open it up, hold onto the tailgate and get whatever you need. But do that at your own risk.To tilt it back up, just grab ahold of these two arms on the bike rack and tilt up, til you hear that audible latch.We have four different points where our bike is secured. We have a ratchet strap on the back wheel right here and we also have the same thing on the front wheel, securing it into the cradles.We also have two wheel hooks, one on the back and one on the front. These wheel hooks are putting downward pressure on top of the wheels, forcing them down into the cradles. more

Speaker 1: Today in our 2018 GMC Terrain, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Super Clamp EX 2-Bike Platform Rack, part number SA4025F. Now, we do have a bike installed, so let's get a closer look at some of these features.Like a lot of platform-style racks, this can tilt away from your vehicle to give you access to your trunk. We're just going to pull up on this handle like that, let it tilt away, and as you can see, we can open up our trunk. One of the cool things is that you can see there's a lot of space between the handlebars and the trunk, so you're not going to have to worry about that too much either with whatever bike you choose to put on. So you're able to slide in, get whatever you need, and you can close it up. To tilt it up, just grab ahold of the bike rack and push up until you hear that audible latch.Now we have four different points where our bike is secured to the bike rack. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 GMC Terrain, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Yakima RidgeBack 2 Bike Rack, part number Y02457. Now, we do have a bike installed. Let's get a closer look and show off some of the features. Starting from the outside, we're going to see on the ends of both arms, we do have two bottle openers. The cradles, though they are stationary, have this nice rubber TPE padding, which means that these little notches right there are going to shock the shock absorbers for the frame of your bike while you're traveling. Now we already have our bike secured down, and we're first going to show you one of the key features of this rack.We're gonna come to our rack and push down just a bit on the rack, and pull out on our lever down here. When we pull out, we're able to tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle. In this position we are gonna gain full access into our back hatch area to get anything in or out that we may need.What's great about this rack is that we won't have to worry about taking anything off, and we can still see an in between the vehicle and the bike rack to get out those larger items. We'll close our hatch up, then we can lift up on our rack and that locks into place.Now, how our bike is secured down here at the back, we have a cam buckle strap. We're just going to push on the gray cam on the opposite side and pull that strap through. more

So we're going to pull out on our pin here at the back, then we're going to pull down on our lever, and tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle. Now we do want to make sure we hold onto our bike rack as well as our bike when we tilt it away, but in this position we are going to gain full access into our back hatch area to get anything in or out that we may need. What's great about this is that we don't have to worry about taking our bike rack or our bikes off of our vehicle, and we can also stand between our vehicle and our rack to get those larger or smaller items. Once we close that up we can lift our bike rack up back into place, and we'll take our pin, and we want to make sure we replace that as well. more

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2017 GMC Acadia, we're doing a test-fit of the Yakima Holdup Platform-Style 2-Bike Rack, that part number is: Y02443.Now, we already have our bike secured down, we're first going to show you one of the key features of this rack. We're going to come here to the side to the red pin, we're going to pinch that together and pull it out. Then we can tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle with our rack fully loaded. In this position, we are not going to be able to gain full access into our hatch because of our handlebars here that would make contact. These are pretty short handlebars, so you probably won't have any luck with any other bikes, but we have a little bit of access back there to get out smaller items on the side. When we're done, we can lift our bike rack straight up until that clicks into place.Now, back here, if we pull up on our red pin and pull our strap through, we can loosen that up. more

Curt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 GMC Acadia- Video
Today in our 2012 GMC Acadia we're going to be test-fitting the Curt Two Bike Platform Rack for Fat Bikes for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number C18085-FB. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. One of the more prominent features about this bike rack is the fact that it can carry up to two fat bikes on the rear as long as the tire size isn't any wider than 4-7/8". Also, it does tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes still attached. To do that, at the base here you're going to see two pins. There's going to be a smaller one here and the larger. Remove the larger pin first like so, then lift up slightly on the rack and release the second. more
